Online bookings - Purchase of tickets

Where can I buy the tickets?

You can book your ferry tickets online at www.menorcalines.com.

In addition, you can buy them at the ticket offices of the maritime station of Alcúdia located in the port of Alcúdia in Mallorca and at the ticket offices of the maritime station located in the port of Ciutadella in the port of Menorca.

How do I make a booking?
  • SELECT ROUTE: Select the ticket type (one way or round trip) along with the origin and destination of your trip. The tab will automatically open to select the dates of your trip.
  • DATES: Select the date by clicking on the calendar corresponding to the one-way date, by default the current day appears but you can move between the dates by clicking on the arrows that appear above the calendar. The fields for the choice of PASSENGERS and VEHICLE will appear below.
  • PASSENGERS: You must select the number of passengers according to age at the time of travel. If you are traveling with a pet, please select the box in this section. During the booking process you can indicate the exact number of pets that will travel.
  • The option to add your vehicle ticket to your booking will automatically appear below. By default, the displayed value is No Vehicle and press SEARCH.

If passengers have any discount / bonus for residence and / or large family, you must indicate by selecting an option from the default.

In addition, if you have a promotional code, you must indicate it, so we calculate your rate.

Promotions for travelling with a vehicle

We have offers for a day trip to Menorca or Mallorca with vehicle. Enjoy these promotions by buying your tickets at our ticket offices or making a reservation online.

How do I know if my booking has been confirmed?

On completing your purchase, if your card payment has gone through successfully you will receive a confirmation email indicating the contracted services and the booking reference. This document will also serve as a receipt of your tickets purchase and acceptance of the contracted services.

The total amount of your booking will automatically be charged on your credit or debit card. The price paid includes VAT and all other taxes or rates associated with the provision of the acquired services.

How can I pay?

Payment can only be made by debit or credit card, via Banco Sabadell Virtual POS Terminal (safe payment platform).

The card used to pay for the booking does not necessarily have to belong to the booking holder and will not have to be shown to get the boarding passes. Once you have purchased your tickets, you can check-in online to obtain your boarding passes.

How can I amend or cancel my booking?

If you wish to make any changes to your booking, please call +34 971 32 43 07 or send an email to reservas@menorcalines.com (agencias@menorcalines.com if you have booked through the professional area), up to 2 working days before the date of travel, provided that the boarding passes (check-in) have not been issued. 

If you wish to make a change or cancellation on a Sunday or public holiday, please call +34 871 751 697 (Alcudia Ticket Office) or +34 971 38 43 92 (Ciutadella Ticket Office).

No cancellations will be made if you have booked the BASIC RATE, as it only allows changes of dates with rebooking. Only the FLEXIBLE RATE allows cancellations (with restrictions).

Changes can only be made up to 2 working days prior to the date of the trip and only if the boarding passes have not been issued yet with the check-in.

Any changes that you make may result in a modification of the price. The difference will have to be paid by credit/debit card by phone. Please note that some services may not be available if you change the date.

If you do not show up on the day of the crossing and have not given previous notice, your booking will be treated as a cancellation and no refund whatsoever will be made. If the cancellation is requested 7 days or more prior to the date of the outward journey, the 90% of the price paid will be refunded (10% cancellation fee).

If the cancellation is made between 6 days and 48 hours before the departure, the cancellation fee will be 20% of the price of the ticket.

In all other cases of free cancellation or modification, a handling fee of 15 Euros per booking may be charged.

Professional area for travel agencies

High request as an agency

Menorca Lines by Trasmapi has a professional area for travel agencies, which will allow you to & quot; make reservation of tickets for your clients in a simple way.

In the professional area, you can ' apply for registration in this service by filling out the form provided. Shortly you will receive á a confirmation email of the reception of the information together with the conditions of the service, which will have to be accepted simply by responding "Conform ” to said e-mail. Then, it will be sent. by e-mail access data and a user manual.

Payment method / Billing

Through the Professional Area, payments will be made by debit/credit card, or, if so stated in the agreement between the agency and Menorca Lines, no payment will be made to confirm the reservation, as long as the credit limits established by the parties.

Passengers travelling without a vehicle can carry up to 20 kilos of personal luggage.

Is smoking allowed on board?

Our ferries are smoke- free spaces. Smoking on board is absolutely prohibited, even on open decks.

Throwing rubbish into the sea is absolutely forbidden.

You can read a whole catalog of magazine and newspapers online and for free on board. You just have  to follow these steps:

  1. Connect to the free Menorca Lines Wi-Fi network.
  2. Access to Pressreader through the web link you will find on your screen.
  3. Start reading.

Remember that you can also download the content to your mobile so that you can read it later or wherever you want.

Rates and schedules

What are the rates and which services do they include?

Our fares include port and other taxes, handling costs, travel insurance and, of course, the crossing for passengers and their luggage.

The only charges you can occur in, are for cancellations.

Discounts are only applicable to passengers, not to vehicles.

Pets can travel on our ferries free of charge.

Type of passengers

The age of the passenger will be considered when traveling, not when making the booking. To check the age at boarding our staff may request documentation to prove the date of birth.

  • Babies: Babies up to 4 travel for free as they do not occupy a place.
  • Children: From 4 to 13 have special discounted fares.
  • Adults: Adults between 14 and 59, pay 100% of the fare.
  • Seniors: Passengers aged 60 or over have a special discount.
  • Pets: Pets travel for free.
Ticket Loss / Theft

A passenger who does not board, for reasons beyond the company's control, may not have their ticket refunded. The Company shall not be liable if the passenger loses any service because of being late and shall not have to delay any service to await the arrival of the passenger, or to provide them with a seat on another service if the passenger misses their passage.

The Company shall not be liable in the event for the loss or theft of the tickets and shall not have to replace or re-issue such notes or refund the amount paid.

Boarding of passengers, vehicles and pets

Can I travel with a rental vehicle?

You can board your rental car if the rental company allows it. We recommend that you check with the rental agency first to avoid problems at the time of collection.

What's the deadline for me to show up for boarding?

Passenger without vehicle: passengers with boarding passes must arrive up to 30 minutes before departure of the ship. Otherwise, they must be present 60 minutes before departure.

Passenger with vehicle: passengers with boarding passes for themselves and the vehicle must arrive up to 60 minutes before the ship departs. Otherwise, they must arrive more than an hour before.

Can my pet travel on board?

With us your pet always FREE, HAPPY and WITH YOU! We are pet lovers!

  • Mandatory for animals that board the facilities to be identified with a microchip, vaccinated against rabies for animals over three months old, and travel with a passport or veterinary card stating the name and surname of the owner, updated contact information, ID , the animal's identification number and the current rabies vaccination record (for animals older than three months). The dogs will have to wear an identification plate on the collar with the telephone numbers of the person in charge.

  • Those responsible for dogs of breeds considered potentially dangerous will have to present the card or documentation of the municipal license for their possession, and a photocopy of the civil liability insurance policy with the last paid receipt to prove that it is in force.

  • Dogs may travel outside the carrier with a harness and leash in the area designated for them on the boat. In cases where dogs are considered potentially dangerous, they must travel with a muzzle. Only the use of basket or basket type muzzles will be allowed.

  • Those responsible for the animal will have the obligation to keep them in adequate hygienic-sanitary conditions.

  • No type of physical or verbal abuse of animals will be tolerated, and the company may, if deemed necessary, report it to the competent administration.

  • Those responsible for the animals will be responsible for the damage that the animals may cause during the stay, both to the ship and to third parties or other animals.

  • Those responsible for the animals have to collect the droppings, urine and any other residue of the animal, they will also have to take responsibility for keeping the space used in a good state of hygiene.

  • Cats must always travel inside the carrier, without the possibility of leaving the carrier and they will always be housed away from the dogs.

  • We have 4 cages, 2 of 100*59*60 (width, depth and height) and 2 of 80*50*58 (width, depth and height).

Passengers requiring special attention

In Menorca Lines we are available to passengers with reduced mobility who need our help to travel. For this purpose, we ask for your cooperation, it is recommended that those people who require special attention (people deprived of mobility, visual or auditory disability etc.) indicate this at the time of making the online purchase of their tickets or in their absence, at least 24 hours in advance indicating the special conditions in which it is located so the ground staff and the crew can attend to it properly.

In step 3 of the booking process: When entering personal data, you will see the option for notifying that one or more passengers needs assistance and their details.

Visually impaired people: Guide dogs will have access to the rooms and may be travel with the person they accompany but must not obstruct the escape routes.

Check-in

What is self-check-in and how is it done?
The online self-check-in is a free process for getting your boarding passes and boarding the boat directly without going through the ticket office.

After making your booking, please access the online CHECK-IN section at www.menorcalines.com. You will need to enter your booking locator number (provided on the booking confirmation screen or received by e-mail) next to the e-mail address provided at the time of booking.

The service is available only during the 15 calendar days before the departure date of your booking. Remember that once the boarding passes are issued, no changes or cancelations can be made to the booking.

Auto Check-in

Leave us the check-in and save time before your ferry departure: if you have not checked in online, we will do it for you automatically and will send boarding passes to your email 48 hours before your travel date.
Who can check online?

All confirmed bookings, except for bookings with a Balearic residency bonus whose residence has not been verified digitally or for Large Families, who must obtain boarding passes at the ticket office upon presentation of the documentation proving such a bonus.

I can't check in online. How do I get boarding passes?

The check-in process may not complete successfully in these situations:

  • The page is not available. There may be an error on the website, please try again later.
  • I am a resident, and it is impossible to digitally check the residence of the passengers. This may be due to the non-operational nature of the IT platform or a negative response from the IT platform because the passenger data has not been entered correctly or is not registered in the system.

    The boarding passes must be obtained at the ticket offices of the Maritime Stations in the Port of Mallorca or Menorca, presenting the booking voucher received by e-mail.

In all cases, if the error persists, you can contact Menorca Lines by Trasmapi to report the incident.

What documentation do I need to board with online check-in?

Once you have checked in for boarding, you must present the boarding passes issued online printed on paper or in mobile format with the booking voucher received by e-mail, as proof of the booking or ticket.

Request an invoice

I need a bill. How do I apply?

You can request an invoice for your booking or tickets purchased at the ticket office or boats, by requesting it in writing to facturacion@menorcalines.com indicating the booking locator number and the billing tax data.

Within 15-30 days you will receive the invoice by email in the indicated e-mail.

Residents in Balearic Islands

Documentation for residents of the Balearic Islands

Menorca Lines ‘s sale system is integrated with SARA’s telematic platform provided by the Ministry of Development. This system allows to verify online if you accomplish with the requirements to obtain the discount for residents.

 If the answer is POSITIVE, you can check in online and print out your boarding passes to embark directly.

If the answer is NEGATIVE, according to the RD 1/2014, you will have to get your boarding passes at our ticket office in the port, prior presentation of a valid certificate of residency (original copy), as requested by the Spanish Royal Decree 1316/2001 modified by the Spanish Royal Decree 1340/2007*. A valid and original Identification Document (DNI for Spanish passengers or Passport for Foreign passengers and NIE permanent and long-term) must be presented as well. Children under 14 years of age do not need to present their ID if they do not have one but only the certificate of residency when applies.

Menorca Lines recommends residents to always bring their certificate with, especially if the residency has never been checked telematically, the residency has changed recently or had a negative answer to the telematic platform that checks the residency.


*We remind passengers that we need these documents for each passenger. According to the information provided by the General Directorate of Maritime Affairs, all ferry companies “have to collect and save copies of all documentation accrediting passengers’ residency”, therefore all certificates must be printed out being not valid in mobile devices as they have to be ready for scanning.

Large families (in Spain)

Requested documents for passengers with a large-family discount

If you are a large family, you can get a discount on the official fare of 20% for the General category and 50% if the category is Special.

When purchasing and issuing boarding passes at our ticket offices, in accordance with the provisions of Royal Decree 1621/2005, of 30 December, which approves the Regulations of Law 40/2003 of 18 November on the protection of large families, if you are entitled to the large family discount, you must present the following documentation:

  • Original and a photocopy of the Large Family Certificate (issued by the Spanish Administration)
  • Photocopies of the Certificate pages reporting the following information:

II. Passenger’s name and identification document.

III. Validity and expiration

In case passengers do not display requested documents for resident in the Balearic Islands or large-family discounts, tickets will be issued without reduction and the difference in Price shall be paid at the sales ticktes.

  • The refund will be made to the same card used to pay for the booking. The refund period will depend on the type of card (debit or credit), from 2 to 15 days.

  • Cancellations requested within 24 hours of the travel date will not be subject to cancellation fees.

  • If the booking was made with a third party (not menorcalines.com), you must contact the seller directly to request changes or cancellations.

  • Passenger tickets (not vehicles) are valid for up to 1 year, you can travel with the same ticket on another date without having to cancel the booking.
